Year calendar

All twelve months on a single page, ready to print or save as a PDF.

—

How it works

The calendar lays all twelve months of a year on one page. You can choose whether weeks begin on Monday or Sunday, and whether ISO 8601 week numbers appear down the side — week 1 being the week that contains the first Thursday of the year, which is why it sometimes starts in late December.

The print stylesheet reflows the months three to a row and strips the navigation, search and footer, so printing or saving to PDF produces a clean sheet rather than a screenshot of a web page. Nothing is sent anywhere to render it; the whole calendar is generated in your browser.

Any year from 1 to 9999 will render. Years before 1582 use Gregorian rules projected backwards, so they will not match the Julian dates in use at the time.

Examples

A wall planner. Render the year, switch week numbers on and print. Three months to a row fits a single sheet legibly, which a screenshot of a web page does not.

Checking how a year falls. Seeing all twelve months at once makes the shape of the year obvious — which public holidays land on weekends, where the long gaps between them sit, and which months carry five weekends.

Planning against ISO weeks. With week numbers shown you can line a project plan tracked by week against actual dates without counting rows.

Practical notes

Printing is the main use, and print output differs from the screen deliberately: the navigation, search and footer are dropped and the months reflow three to a row so a year fits a sheet cleanly. Use your browser's print preview to check paper size before committing a page.

Week numbers follow ISO 8601, so week 1 is the one containing the first Thursday of the year. That means the first row can begin in late December, which looks wrong at a glance and is correct.

The whole calendar is generated in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and no year is precomputed, which is why an unusual year renders as fast as the current one.

Frequently asked questions

How do I save this as a PDF?

Use the print button and choose “Save as PDF” as the destination. The print stylesheet lays the months out three to a row.

Which years can I view?

Any year from 1 to 9999. Bear in mind that calendars before 1582 predate the Gregorian reform in most countries.

Can I start the week on Sunday?

Yes. The first-day setting applies to the whole calendar and is remembered on this device for the other tools too.

Why do the week numbers not start at 1 January?

ISO week 1 is the week containing the first Thursday of the year. When 1 January falls late in the week it belongs to the final week of the previous year.

Why does the first week start in December?

ISO week 1 is the week containing the first Thursday of January, so when the year begins late in the week, week 1 starts in the previous December. It looks wrong and is correct.

How do I save it as a PDF?

Print and choose "Save as PDF" as the destination. The print stylesheet drops the navigation and lays the months out three to a row.

Can I show public holidays?

The year calendar shows the grid; use the holidays tool for a country's list, since holidays vary by region and employer in ways a single calendar cannot capture.

Can I change the first day of the week?

Yes, and the setting is shared with the other calendar tools on this device.

Can I highlight specific dates?

Not on the year view. The month calendar is the better place to work with individual dates.

Does it print in colour?

It prints cleanly in black and white, since most office printers are monochrome and a calendar that depends on colour is a poor calendar.

How many weeks are in a year?

52 in most years and 53 in some, under ISO 8601. A year has 53 when it begins on a Thursday, or is a leap year beginning on a Wednesday.

Can I start the year on a month other than January?

Not here. For a financial year running from another month, print the two calendar years and use the relevant part of each.
