Privacy policy

Short version: your calculations never leave your device.

What is stored

Preferences (theme, 12/24-hour clock, first day of the week, language), your world clock list, saved countdowns and calendar notes are kept in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are not transmitted to any server and are not accessible to us.

What is not collected

No account is required and none is offered. The site does not ask for your name, email address or location permission. Calculations, including dates of birth entered into the age calculator, are processed entirely in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

Analytics

This deployment uses Google Analytics 4. If your device's time zone is one in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, it runs only if you agree: the script is not requested until you accept the banner that asks, and declining means no request is made to Google at all. Anywhere else it loads without asking, and “Cookie settings” in the footer switches it off. When it runs, it records that a page was viewed and which page it was, together with the coarse signals every web request carries anyway: an approximate region, the browser and the kind of device. Your IP address is truncated before Google stores it.

Cookies whose names begin _ga are then set on this domain so that a second page view can be recognised as part of the same visit. They identify a browser, not a person, and they are removed either by clearing site data or by declining under “Cookie settings” in the footer. Nothing you type into a calculator is included in any of it — the measurement is of pages, not of input, and the calculation itself never leaves your device. Google's own handling of what it receives is described in its privacy policy, and the opt-out browser add-on it publishes turns Analytics off on every site that uses it, not just this one.

Advertising

Ad slots exist in the layout but are empty and hidden by default. If an operator enables an advertising network, that network's own privacy policy will apply to any data it collects, and this page should be updated to name it.

Cookies

The site's own code sets no cookies — your preferences are kept in local storage, which is never attached to a network request. The services described above — Google Analytics 4 — do set cookies on this domain. The cookie policy lists them and explains how to remove them.

Clearing your data

Clearing site data or browsing data for this domain in your browser settings removes everything the site has stored, immediately and permanently.

This page describes the site as published in this repository. Anyone deploying a modified copy is responsible for keeping it accurate.

What is stored, and where

Your preferences and any lists you build — saved cities, timers, alarms, recently used tools — live in your own browser under a single local storage key. Local storage is not a cookie: it is never attached to a network request and never sent anywhere. It exists so the site remembers your settings on your next visit, and clearing site data removes it completely.

What is not collected

There is no account system, so there is nothing to sign up for and no profile for this site to build. Page views are counted by the analytics provider described above; that is a record of which pages are read, not of who read them, and it exists so the operator can tell which tools are worth maintaining.

Nothing you type into a calculator is part of it. Dates of birth, meeting times, city lists — all of it is processed in your browser and never transmitted, because there is no server-side code here to transmit it to.

Your location

The site reads your time zone from your browser in order to show local times. That is a setting on your device, not a location lookup: it names a zone such as Europe/London, not a place, and no geolocation permission is requested at any point.

Hosting and logs

Like any website, the server that delivers these pages will see the requests your browser makes, including an IP address, in its ordinary access logs. That is a function of how the web works rather than something this site does with your data, and the operator's hosting provider determines how long such logs are kept.

Changes

This deployment loads Google Analytics 4; the sections above describe what is collected. These paragraphs are generated from the same configuration that decides whether those scripts load: turning a provider off removes both the script and its disclosure in the same build. The policy therefore cannot quietly fall out of step with what the site actually does.

Why the site can make these claims

Most privacy policies describe what a company promises to do with data it collects. Much of this one is a statement about architecture instead. The site is a set of static files with no back end, no database and no server-side code, so there is no process anywhere that could receive what you type into a calculator — not as a matter of policy, but because the receiving end does not exist.

That part is verifiable rather than merely asserted. Open your browser's network tab and watch: the only requests that leave for another origin go to Google, for the scripts named above, and nothing at all carries the contents of any field on the page.

Offline caching

A service worker stores copies of pages and assets so the tools keep working without a connection. That cache is a copy of files your browser already downloaded, held on your device. It is not a record of what you did, and clearing site data removes it along with everything else.

Children

The site collects no personal information from anyone, so there is no separate regime for children. Nothing here asks for a name, an email address or an age.

Your rights

Regimes such as the GDPR give you rights of access, correction and deletion over personal data held about you. This site holds none of its own — there is no database and no account, so there are no records here to access or erase.

The providers named above are separate controllers of what they collect, and those rights are exercised against them rather than against this site; their policies, linked above, explain how. The data in your browser is already yours and already under your control: clearing site data deletes all of it immediately, without asking anyone.

Data retention

This site retains nothing, because it stores nothing on a server. What sits in your browser stays until you clear it, which is entirely under your control rather than subject to any policy of ours. The providers named above apply their own retention periods to what they collect; those are set out in the policies linked above and are not something this site controls.

Contact about privacy

Questions about this policy can go to the address on the contact page. Since no personal data is held, most requests under data protection law have no records to act on — which is the intended outcome rather than an evasion.
